The picture of monks sitting for the 2020 Pali Exam in the ancient Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat Worawihan, a Thai temple in Nonthaburi Province reminded of the day when a foreign man from the Middle East was invited to a school for a religious talk. The man was a thin, young man and he was held in esteem. Then, of course I was reminded too of child preachers the likes of Ezekiel Stoddard and Marjoe Gortner. I had then thought that religious teachers and preachers should sit through examinations too and maybe go for interviews for frankly, I don't like the idea that any Tom, Dick and Harry can preach just to anybody.
