Came across some T- shirts with Buddha's images while browsing a shopping App recently. In the past, Buddha's statues have been used to decorate the living room or study; and even in bars too when it is a well known fact that Buddhism does not encourage drinking as can be seen by the Buddhist Fifth precept : Suramerayamajja pamadatthana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which lead to carelessness. The use of Buddha's image seems to be taken to a new level; and I wonder if Buddhists would be pleased that Buddha could inspire such creation or get annoyed instead and go up in arms, intepreting this as a form of disrespect...
