I was rather amused when I received some photos on locks for men. The locks were actually chastity belts, some locking items of clothing designed to prevent sexual intercouse. I have always thought that chastity belts are for women since it has been said that during the Crusades, when a knight left for the Holy Lands, he would force his Lady to wear a chastity belt to preserve her faithfulness to him. That chastity belts have been created for males too came as a surprise but then, why not, both sexes are equally open to temptations. Perhaps, the device could help both sexes in the practice of the third of the Buddhist Five Precepts:Kāmesu micchācāra veramaī sikkhāpada samādiyāmi. I undertake the training rule to abstain from sexual misconduct.
