Jataka Tales

The Jātaka Tales refer to a voluminous body of folklore-like literature concerning the previous births of Buddha the founder of Buddhism. Many of the Jataka stories have been found translated into other languages. While the Tibetan Jataka stories tend to maintain the Buddhist morality of their Pali equivalents, re-tellings of the stories in Persian and other languages sometimes contain significant changes to suit their respective cultures.
