Bamiyan Buddhas

In 2001, Talibans in Afghanistan destroyed two statues of Buddhas. These statues, believed to have been carved into the sandstone cliffs of Bamiyan in the third century A.D. and standing at 53 meters and 36 meters each, were then the tallest standing statues of Buddhas in the world. While Buddha lives on in the hearts of his followers, man-made statues are just man-made statues and when destroyed, proved the idea of impermanency of which Buddha taught.

I saw today info about sleeping Buddha,maybe you know more about this because living there?

I believe you have read about this. Buddhism too may die off just like it did in its birthplace. It used to prosper there. That's why there are time which are called the dark ages.The only thing that won't disappear is the dhamma. I don't know what you think about this but it sound sensible to me. meanwhile, I'll be going to Buddha's birthplace in Northern India for a pilgrimage with some folks here. Won't be back until 18 Dec. See you then!
