In Death, She Lives

I read in the local daily In death, she saves lives, about anaesthetist Dr Tan Bee Hooi who underwent a surgery related to arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brains at the Fondation Rothschild Hospital in Paris, France, on March 11 under the care of Professor Jacques Moret, a world-renowned interventional neuroradiologist. Bee Hooi who was a doctor in Penang hospital, had wanted to open the first pain management clinic there if her operation was successful but unfortunately she succumbed to complications. While alive, despite her busy schedule, she had found time to help others through social works and volunteered her services at the Mahindrama Temple at Kampar Road, Penang and when she died, her corneas, heart, kidneys and liver were harvested for patients waiting for transplants in France and other European countries. Her father had said As a staunch Buddhist, Bee Hooi believed it was more blessed to give than to receive. Her father felt happy that even in her death, she could give others a new lease of life. Now don't you think every human should be proud of that?

To give is a difficult thing. You can give to feel so important or to raise own self-value in own eyes, or to show others how good are you...

To give just to feel important or to raise self value is not giving at all. That type of giving is easy!
Dr Bee Hooi sounds as though she gave to help others...we all should be so giving...H
