Kids' Messages: Seeing Things As They Are

Everyone seeks peace and harmony and I suppose, kids included. As in the question by Jane, I am very sure when someone close to her dies, she would be very sad indeed and a compassionate being most probably would have her request granted. I wonder though if when Jane grows up, would she be making the request above. It has been said that there is a type of meditation called Vipassana Meditation introduced by Lord Buddha thousand of years ago. This is supposed to be a non-sectarian technique aims for healing human suffering. Vipassana, which itself means to see things as they really are aims to eradicate mental impurities and supposedly results in the highest happiness of full liberation. Whatever that means- but if we could really see things as they really are, there probably would be no innocent requests like Jane's.

If we would be able to do many right things and not wrong, there was not samsara but nirvana here.

People can do good things and still be in Samsara if the mind is tainted.

I love this. Kid's see things so simply. Perhaps there is a case for telling this child that God does in fact keep the old ones - He just recycles them a little...

We can be kids too if we choose to!
