Kids' Messages: Stealing Ideas
Talking about stealing ideas! In my trip to India in 2007, once our guide told us that Buddhism is part of Hinduism which drew flakes from our group leader. Buddhism is Buddhism and Hinduism is Hinduism. According to her, it was during the time when Buddhism was getting overly popular in India and Hinduism was waning that the latter incorporated the ideas of the former. I don't know if stealing ideas in this way tantamount to breaking the second precepts: Do not steal but I do really want to steal the ideas from Dhamma Musings. Using the author Shravasti Dhammika's own words: The Buddha could not possibly have borrowed the idea of rebirth/reincarnation or indeed anything else from Hinduism for one simple reason – Hinduism did not exist in the 5th century BCE. Perhaps, you rather read Copy Cat Buddha yourself...
