Meditating on Mediation

The local Star Paper reported that there is a Malaysian Bar Meditation Centre mediator Phee Boon Leng who in a forum stated that meditation should be the country's primary method of resolving disputes as it is cheaper and faster than going to court. I guess the word should be mediation since later it was stated that mediation was recommended because in a dispute, it is not about who is right or wrong but about seeking a common benefit and interest. But that aside, I wonder now isn't meditation, mediation? Is meditation simply about sitting down until the knees get hurt or walking silently as we observe our steps? Sitting down or walking, meditation, ultimately deals with the mind and in mediation, it involves just that - the mind. In mediation, there should be deep thinking and that, I suppose is meditation?
