Taking Care of Our mind

According to the Chairman of Alzheimer's Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM), Datuk Dr Yim Khai Kee, 9 out of 10 Alzheimer's Disease patients in Malaysia were below 65 years old. Alzheimer's Disease is a disease that alters the brain, causing impaired memory, thinking, behaviour and functional activity and is incurable. An early sign and symptom of Alzheimer's is the loss of short-term memory, such as forgetting what a person ate for breakfast on that day. Buddhism has been touted as a religion which emphasizes the cultivation of the mind. With Alzheimer's Disease, will there be a mind to be cultivated, I wonder...If not, perhaps one should consider eating more vegetables and fish, exercise regularly, reduce anger, have fun, relax, laugh, have a good attitude, keep studying to train the mind, and keep involving in social activities as these are said to be the ways to overcome the dreaded disease. It is good to take care of our mind when we have it.
