Edict to Alert

It is official! The National Fatwa council in Malaysoa has declared that the yoga practice which involves physical movements, worshipping and chanting as haram (prohibited) in Islam. Its chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Shukor Husin said though the physical movements of yoga alone might not be wrong, it should be avoided and Muslims are discouraged to do yoga as a form of exercise because it will ultimately lead to religious worshipping and chanting which is against Islam. One thing nice about the whole thing is this fatwa or edict thing. Common people are all too caught up with the mundane world. People are hurrying here and there trying to earn a living and tend to forget about their spiritual well being. I think this edict thing jolts one up into attention and while it is said that meditation purifies the mind, allowing one to look clearly and with equanimity at things, at times when the mind is not set to meditate, what better instrument to set the mind into an alert mode than the fatwa?

In XIII cent., I think, in Europe, the women were declared witches and were burned in the fire. It continued till the XVIII cent. -500 years. I don't see the difference between Christentum and Islam, sincerely... Some their VIP-representatives.

I believe in the existence of the dark Ages. It is now just in the past; it is in the present and most probably in the future too!
