T-shirts For Buddhists

Jerseys of football teams from Brazil, Portugal, Serbia, Barcelona and Norway carry crests with images of crosses while that of Manchester United carries the Red Devil slogan. In Malaysia, the Johor Religious Council adviser Datuk Nooh Gadot said wearing such football jerseys are forbidden in Islam. It is as if Muslims are worshipping and exalting the symbols of other religions and Islam does not compromise on this matter even if the jerseys are worn for fun, fashion or sports. Football jerseys which display images of liquor brands and devils are also a no-no and the Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria agreed with Nooh. The former said although Islam did not forbid its followers from participating in sports or dressing up, it has to be done within the boundaries of Islamic law.In Mahāyāna Buddhism, animals purportedly possess Buddha nature and like human beings are capable of becoming enlightened. With such due respects to animals, I suppose Buddhists could wear T-shirts with animal motifs.

Are these T-shirts suitable for Buddhists?

Footiam I slightly deviate from your view The T-shirts you propose are nice but Buddhism is always against discrimination and believe in one ness so let it be remain neutral. All the best

My intention was not that You now mean to say buddhists show that tey are separate from others but it should not be. It is the state of mind concerned not the colour of one's robe.A person with simple dress may be more enlightened with his spiritual practice than the monks of buddhism thanks
