King Pasenadi's sixteen dreams seem rather puzzling. In his first dream, he saw four black bulls coming to the Royal Courtyard from four cardinal points, seemingly to fight but when a crowd has flocked to watch, they merely roared and bellowed. It is said that Buddha explained this dream as something that would happen in the future during the time when kings as well as the common folks become unrighteous. Then, no rain will fall and crops will die and there will be famine. Then, when clouds appear and thunder bellows and lightning strikes and it seems as if rain is coming, there will still be no rain at all. I suppose it is puzzling why and what have all these bulls to do with kings, people and rain but if you muddle over whether Buddha had actually do this intepretion, you'd get even more puzzle about whether dreams have their values.
