I read in a Buddhist forum that there were complaints on some great teachers who made comments on gays. Elton John and his partner, David Furnish (inset), just had baby Zachary and the question arose if Buddhists accept gay marriages and approve their having children. Perhaps, you remember Buddha's personal attendant, Ananda who served Buddha for twenty years. Ananda was said to be able to be able to repeat Buddha's speeches since he could memorize well but when Buddha died,he had yet to attain enlightenment. Many great teachers perhaps are not as enlightened and perhaps are not as great as we thought. But now, the real issue is would you accept gay marriages and approve their having a baby ala Elton John?
