Whoever is Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva?

Whoever is this Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (inset)? Yong Vui Kong purportedly had knelt down, meditated and drew his or is it her picture? Yong Vui Kong, by the way, is the chap from Sabah, Malaysia who when barely 18, was caught with 47.27g of heroin and later sentenced to death by a Singapore court. The boy, the sixth in a family of seven siblings was raised single-handely by his divorced mother who earned a paltry RM220 from washing dishes at a hawker stall. He had dropped out of school at 11 and at 16, had gone to Kuala Lumpur to sell pirated DVDs in Petaling Street and later, when he met a big brother who bought him meals and expensive clothes, had started to collect debts and deliver special packages. His boss had told him that peddling DVDs would earn him seven years in jail while peddling drugs would only earn him two years. Vui Kong has been said to have undergone a complete transformation since entering jail. He has taken up Buddhism, become a vegetarian and taken a new Buddhist name, Nan Di Li and spends much of his time praying. There is a Save Yong Vui Kong Facebook group page that managed to get 22,300 people to sign in. Do you wonder if the poor boy could be saved by Buddhism?
