Buddhist Dietary Law

Parinirvāṇa, that is, Buddha's passing away in Kuśinagara,  probably makes an interesting read. This story often revolves around a blacksmith, Chunda who probably served Buddha one of his very last meal in a place called Pava. Once, I thought I read somewhere that he served poisoned mushroom but there is yet another story  about him serving poisoned pork. The story even suggested that the food was meant for Ananda but Buddha who suspected something afoul,  told him not to eat the pork. Buddha however, ate the poisoned food himself and told them to bury the rest. That the Buddha ate pork perhaps makes one wonder why some Mahayana temples insist on a strict vegetarian diet. Do Buddhists have a Buddhist dietary law just like the Muslims and Jewish who all have their own unique Muslim dietary laws and Jewish dietary laws?
