Once, there was a talk of making a century old Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur, the Sri Muneswarar Kaliyaman as famous as Bangkok's Erawan Shrine (inset). The shrine of course, housed the famed four-faced Buddha. Since Buddha normally refers to the founder of Buddhism, Prince Siddhartha Gautama , the Erawan Shrine is often mistaken to be Buddhist. Since the Bangkok shrine houses the Hindu God of Creation god, Brahma, the four-faced Buddha is more Hindu than Buddhist. Historically or in legends, Buddha has never been two-faced, three-faced let alone four. How many face/s does a man have anyway?
