You Tube Stars

Singapore never fails to amaze. Move over, the annoying weird-looking  Mr. Know-all who probably had been named after a famous American biscuit, the notorious Amos Yee. Another Singapore You Tube Star with the weird name of Tzire is now in the limelight after having blackmailed a teenaged girl over some nude photos. At 18, Tzire had already borrowed from loan sharks and when he could not pay, had blackmailed a girl whom he had befriended through Facebook for money. The girl, also 18, had removed all her clothes and performed a sexual act on Tzire after losing a bet in a game of strip poker. Now that she had been blackmailed, she cried, could not sleep and felt traumatised. The girl had hoped the police could stop Tzire from releasing her nude photos. Now, you probably would not just think that in a progressive country like Singapore, rogues start off young - Like me, you'd probably start to wonder if there is a  need for a sixth precept for upāsaka and upāsikā  (lay followers) of Buddhism. For so long now, it is just the Five Precepts which constitute the basic code of ethics for Buddhists. Maybe, a sixth, Thou should not take nude photos should be in the line!
