I have seen a Chinese Buddhist monk, a Thai Buddhist monk, a Tibetan Buddhist monk, a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, a Bhutanese monk and Buddhist monks from Myanmar as well as Caucasian Buddhist monks from the west; but I am very certain I haven't seen a Malay Buddhist monk. Where I live, all Malays are Muslims and that's enshrined in the nation's constitution. Maybe, I've seen an Indian Buddhist monk too but as far as black Buddhist monks are concerned, I suppose this is the first time I've come across them and even then, that's just in a Facebook posting. Then of course; just like black lives matter, black monks matter too.
