Theravada Buddhist monks wear saffron robes; turmeric being used to dye them orange-yellow. Somewhere I read that Hinduism and Buddhism are closely related and Hindu priests do wear robes of a similar colour. I'm not sure however if there are Christian priest wearing saffron robes; cassocks or vestments probably; but they could be black or white; red, purple or green even but hardly the colour of robes of Buddhist or Hindu monks. The Hindu Voice however reported of Christian missionaries in such attire. Missionaries probably have to go the extra length to attract.
