Jesus! That doesn't look like Buddha at all! A month after Gautama Buddha began meditating under the Bodhi Tree, legend has it that the sky darkened for a week and Mucalinda, a snake-like being had appeared from beneath the earth to protect him from the rain with his hood. The story has inspired many artistic representation and any being depicted sitting meditatively under the hood of a snake automatically reminds of Buddha. This one in the picture however, doesn't. Who would you probably think of?
