When someone performs an act of charity, would others applaud and be filled with joy? Not in the case of a member of parliament donating a motorcycle to a Foodpanda food delivery rider. Good deeds are not necessary interpreted as an act of kindness or compassion if a university professor would have it. In this case, the member of parliament was accused of trying to spread Christianity through his charitable act. Charitable acts aimed to convert isn't really charitable; but when that's not the case, doesn't that mean the learned professor lacks right thoughts or right views? In the Magga-vibhanga Sutta, the Buddha is said to have said to the monks: And what, monks, is right view? Knowledge with regard to stress, knowledge with regard to the origination of stress, knowledge with regard to the stopping of stress, knowledge with regard to the way of practice leading to the stopping of stress: This, monks, is called right view. Do you then think that the professor would be stressed out with his unkind thoughts?
