Vesak, I read is also known as Buddha Jayanti, Buddha Purnima and Buddha Day. Don't really know about that except that locally, it is a holiday and Buddhists, some who otherwise just live to work and eat; throng the temple to burn incense and candles, get sprinkled with holy water and take some home for the family perhaps; and there would be big crowds and a funfair atmosphere in the temples where various activities would be held like a food fair, bathing the Buddha ceremony, dhamma talks; perhaps, some relevant and some not. Last year there was no such celebration and this year too; with Covid-19 pandemic raging, celebration will be online; and as I reminisce past celebration, I wonder when this pandemic will end and would Buddha or any other compassionate being allow it...
