George Bernard Shaw or simply  Bernard Shaw as he prefered to be called, was an Irish playwright whose work influenced Western theatre, culture and politics. A Nobel Prize laureate in literature, the author of over sixty plays, surprisingly hated school, claiming in his own words that schools and schoolmasters were prisons and turnkeys in which children are kept to prevent them disturbing and chaperoning their parents.
