Goat No.3

There is this story about two friends with a crazy idea. They rounded up three goats and after painting the numbers 1, 2 and 4 on their sides, let the goats loose inside a school building. The next morning when the school authorities saw goat droppings in the building, they suspected goats had entered. They started searching for them, found three; and had normal class cancelled as the rest of the day was spent searching for the elusive goat No.3. Now, I was wondering about nirvana. It probably is just as elusive as the goat; and even if it is real, should a normal life be disrupted? I have once met a teacher who probably in her search for sublime bliss, opted for early retirement, devoting her entire life to attending retreats and meditation when she was still young and healthy and in a position to teach and help the younger generation.
