Just a few days ago, the social media was abuzzed with the news that it snowed in Genting Highlands. Then later there was news that the snow was just manmade bubble foam which would fall for 10 minutes every 2 hours. It would not snow, not in tropical Malaysia. In the lowlands, the most is pieces of ice will drop on the zinc roof, causing a rattling sound and dissolving almost immediately due to the hot weather but that again is a rare occurence. Nevertheless, it can't be denied that the weather has changed. When it used to rain everyday in Taiping, the rain had once suddenly stopped. For a number of years, it was rather hot that even the lakes in the Lake Gardens lost much of their water and almost dried up. About a year or two ago, the weather however suddenly changed and Taiping is getting wet again and lives to its name as a rain town. Here I suppose lie one of the three marks of existence. In Buddhism, the three marks incidently are annica transience or impermanence, dukkha pain or suffering and anattā non-self, non-soul or non-egoism. They don't have to be linked to each other though, do they?
Snowing in Genting Highlands. Would it bring dukkha?
