News! : Bad Monks vs Bad people

I just came across two stories on monks; both not exactly good news. Jason Gray-Stanford, the star of American comedy~drama detective mystery TV series Monk had had a serious heart problem and then in Thailand, a Buddhist monk had been charged with embezzling money meant for the development of local temples. It was a whopping 110 million baht or RM14.2m stolen over a period of nine years from 2007 to 2016. Buddhist monks and nuns under Pratimokṣa rules are just required to live a simple and meditative life. As such, they are not allowed to accept money for themselves or to get someone else to receive it and keep it on their behalf.  Now that the monk and the former chief of the National Office of Buddhism of Thailand have been charged with embezzling money, it goes to show that bad monks and bad people are in no way, tolerated.
