When the famed Vietnamese monk and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh passed away in January at Tu Hieu Temple in Vietnam's Buddhist heartland, Hue, thousands of mourners packed the temple. The monk who wrote over 120 books in Vietnamese, English and French founded Plum Village monasteries in France and Thailand and had been known for giving public lectures on mindfulness and peace worldwide. Only recently, I came across his talks in Youtube. Then, I was amazed at modern technology for allowing one to listen to dhamma talk conveniently at the press of a button. One could listen to someone famous who otherwise would be unavailable; and that too, everyday. Maybe, it's high time to take a dose of dhamma talk each night; not necesssrily Thich Nhat Hanh's; some of which I rather like for being short and simple. Then, long ones; modern technology would allow one to pause and continue the next day or else, put an end to it permanently. It's all a matter of choice.
