Talking about the Five Precepts; just the other day, I came across a story of a Buddhist who was offered a drink during a party. To avoid breaking this precept, he contemplates about a plausible excuse; coming up with the idea of his doctor advising him against drinking for health reasons. The British-Australian Theravada Buddhist monk Ajahn Brahm had pointed out that this is a case of breaking one precept to keep the other. To drink or not to drink, one can always come up with a valid or invalid reason. In the case of an invalid reason, it is possible that the fourth precept will be broken: Musavada veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech.
