News : Nepal's Decreasing Buddhist Population

According to the 2021 Nepal Census, Hindu and Buddhist population in Nepal has declined while the Muslim and Christian population has increased. The increase of Christian population is particularly interesting, noting that there were no Christians in Nepal in 1951 and the number has increased to an estimated 1.5 million. A reason is attributed to the zeal of missionaries especially those from South Korea who despite being anxious and nervous about Nepal's tough anti-conversion law, thought it their duty to spread the gospel and to save souls. Probably Hindus and Buddhists lack the same brand of fire to even save themselves.
