Korean Tour : A Buddhist Temple

 


The Buddhist temple at the foot of Seongsan Ilchulbong probably isn't a major tourist attraction. Since some of our fellow travellers were not back to our bus yet, a few of us took the opportunity to pay it a short visit. The temple was devoid of people. The door to the temple was locked but peeping in, we could see that it was well maintained. It was quiet there except for some recorded chanting that flowed out from within the temple. Here, it was the first I saw the statue of Buddha wearing a hat! Wonder what's the significance?
