Remember hearing a Mahayana monk said many years ago why he converted from Christianity to Buddhism. He had received a book about Buddhism from a friend and reading that everyone could become a Buddha struck a chord. One could not dream of becoming the all powerful God let alone be an equal to him. That a man can perfect himself to become Buddha attracted him. Would you want to become a Buddha yourself?
