Meditation? Now, what is it and what is its purpose? Many years back, when I was still in school, I saw a picture of a man in the papers, sitting cross legged and with eyes closed, the posture commonly associated with meditation and the man was elevating in the air! The article claimed that meditation can give a man the power to elevate but then what is the point when a man can move faster with his legs? A book I read claimed too that meditation can give a man immense psychic power, enabling him to look into his past lives and enabling him too to walk on water and even start a fire with his mind! Again, what's the point? It's nice to look into a past life if there is one or two nice one and why do people need to walk on water if he can travel comfortably and still keep himself dry if he travel in a boat and start a fire? Well, you can use a match if you can't afford a lighter!
Buddhist meditation are many. You have breath meditation and various recollections (anussati) and in the Theravada tradition alone, there are over fifty methods for developing mindfulness and forty for developing concentration, while the Tibetan tradition has thousands of visualization meditation.Yes, Buddhist meditation encompasses a variety of meditation techniques that develop mindfulness, concentration, tranquility and insight and while non-Buddhists use these techniques for the pursuit of physical and mental health, Buddhists pursue meditation as part of the path toward Enlightenment and Nirvana. Take note!

To walk on water, to pass through the walls is not the aim to reach. When you are there, you become able to do some things, but they are not important, understand. For you, when you are there, all this is not important. Important is to be there.
Here I have a very interesting video (first) about real yogies in meditation: Meditation Practice
