Giving Away Your Bahts



Going overseas, one may encounter this problem - one either has too little  or too much to spend depending on the amount of foreign currencies one has changed. In the case of Thai Bahts, one lady has this to say : Don't worry of having too much and don't worry about not being able to use them when you get back to your home country. You can always donate your Bahts to Buddhist monks. I suppose that make sense since many of them would visit Thailand at one time or another or perhaps know Thai monks who could make good use of your Thai Bahts. Never mind that Buddhist monks are not supposed to handle money. I suddenly thought that when one gave away things one does not need, it does not tantamount to giving. In such case, would one earn merits?
