Four Noble Truths

I like the simple truth that is in the Four Noble Truths:
  • There is suffering
  • There is a cause of suffering — craving
  • There is the cessation of suffering
  • There is a way leading to the cessation of suffering — the Noble Eightfold Path
Man can never have it better. There is a solution to life's pain!

Dear Debasis, I wish I understand your dilemma but I really do not. I have visited your blog a few times before but I remember them to be about health and science phenomenon, no hint at all of a dilemma. Anyway, about craving, I do agree with the four noble truth that it is the source of suffering and craving here, shouldn't be just craving for material things alone. Sometimes, we want so much for good things to happen to us and to others that it hurts. People should strive for good things to happen but don't expect too much. Nobody is going to give as much as we would like to take; maybe , we can just have some right thoughts for a change to go with what we think and believe are good actions. I do think a man can live in society with or without a craving for a good cause. Just do what ought to be done, what we think is right and practise equanimity...
You are right Desire is the cause of sorrow and when it is for material thing but if desire for anything remains unfulfilled it brings sorrow with an intensity equal to the things craved for!!!I genrally don't write religion and philosophy in blogcatalog. PL visit

Since unfulfilled craving brings such intense sorrow, why not crave for things that could be fulfilled. This probably is more sensible. It's just like living withing our means. By the way, I have visited your hubpages, linking it up here.
It is the state of mind that causes desire,so our first goal should be the king of mind when movement of the mind will cease and there will be a movement IN the mind. Thanks for your visit

If we have the mind to mind our state of mind, that's great!
