The other day the local paper carried a tale about Sharon Stone and her remark on the tragedy that struck China - the deadly Sichuan earthquake of 12 May that claimed over 60 000 lives. She said it was China's treatment of Tibet that had caused it, the working of karma, it seemed. The writer obviously was annoyed at the remark and wondered if the 50 year old fading star was clear about the word karma. When asked about her feelings for the earthquake, Sharon had said: You know it was very interesting because first, you know I'm unhappy about the way the Chinese treating the Tibetan because I think anyone should not be unkind to anyone else...I've been concerned about how should we deal with the Olympics, because they are not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine. And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and I thought, is that karma -- when you're not nice that the bad things happen to you. Karma do not work that way, I suppose. You are not nice, and you get it. You do not believe and you go to hell! Bad action do bring bad consequences at times but but there ought to be some space for people to correct their mistakes; somewhat like purgatory. In cases where it involved so many innocent lives , there ought to be other better reason/s. If there is a being like Reverend Jim Jones who ran a cult in Guyana and caused mass suicides and murders, the Reverend perhaps have perform a fresh karma and the one who would be at the receiving end should be none other than the Reverend himself. If China had been unkind to the Dalai Lama, it should not be the people who receive the wrath of Karma. Maybe, the whole world should be responsible and if Sharon Stone is right, that could perhaps explain the Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 great tsunami or even 911. Why blame Osama ben Laden. It is obvious many governments in many countries are really very unkind to someone or other. Some countries even sent their armies across vast seas to invade other lands which are not even sharing their borders. Anyway, back to Sharon Stone-the American actress has blond hair and it is really immaterial whether she dyed it or not. If you go through her statement again slowly, you'd probably find that she has the basic instinct to utter the words of a typical blond - a dumb one that is...
