Imagine one million cross-legged 15 X 15 cm with 18 cm width base Buddha images to carry the message of peace. That's the goal of Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh or better known as Luang Phor Dhammajay, the President of the Dhammakaya Foundation in building Dhammakaya Cetiya in Bangkok, Thailand. The Cetiya has 4 zones, -the Buddha-Ratanam, Dhamma-Ratanam, Sangha-Ratanam and Meditation Ground and the first zone, the Buddha-Ratanam is designed to accomodate one million images. 300,000 images are already in place in the outer shell of the hemispherical dome as well as in the spherical terrace and 700,000 more will grace its interior. Each image is an embodiment of purity, wisdom and enlightenment just as Lord Buddha through meditation had gained a purified and enlightened mind which culminates in inner peace and spiritual harmony. The cetiya chooses to cultivate moral conduct and develop the mind power through meditation, believing that the inner peace of each individual can spread to those around, creating a happier world where people treat each other with compassion and respect. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

Very often too "great" places are created only with not very good intentions.
