Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

Remember the extremely popular Swedish pop music group ABBA (inset) from the 70s and 80s? The group's hit song Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! blared out of the radio and even if it was Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A man at midnight) and not Money! Money!Money!, I was inadvertently reminded of one of its former star Anni-Frid Reuss or Frida as she was popularly known who is currently in the limelight for being embroiled in a legal fight to recoup £4.5 million she supposedly gave to a Buddhist monk. The monk in question is Polish-born Marcus Bongart and the money he said, was a donation to help him build a Yangtorp temple in a rural area 40 miles north of the city of Malmo, Sweden. The monk claims Frida had told friends to donate to the temple instead of sending flowers when Frida’s former husband Prince Ruzzo Reuss passed away. The case has caused much amusement in Sweden. No wonder traditionally, Buddhist monks are not allowed to owe or handle money!

Now, let's just enjoy the music...
