The COVID-19 pandemic in Sabah with 12,745 confirmed cases in October certainly is alarming. Serious enough for foreign countries like China and the Philippines to extend help. Locally, I heard of a Buddhist group collecting donations for the people in Sabah. Then, I thought of someone who used to be part of the group who nowadays stay home with a serious case of depression. Nobody visits him; no one from the Buddhist group which I know once the man contributed his service to. Buddhist temples often offer pujas, dhamma talk, chanting and meditation sessions and celebrate with much pomp, vesak and kathina but I doubt they have anything for members' welfare or even neighbours' welfare. If not, it'd be pathetic indeed.
