While in the car during a ride to town, I had asked my nephew if he has seen the present prime minister of Malaysia giving a Chinese New Year message anywhere. He hadn't and I'm not surprised. Making the round in the social media are messages from Bill Gates and Joko Widodo. Bill Gates wishes the Chinese in China a happy new year and rejoices in their success in fighting the covid-19 virus while the Indonesian president just gave a short, sweet greeting, enough to warm the heart. Last year, there were messages from besides Joe Biden and some big shots from Indonesia; one from Hong Kong superstar, Andy Lau. Of the Buddhist eight steps to eradicate sufferings in the Eightfold Path, which would you think wishing others well include; Right View, Right Thought, Right Speech,Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration?
