The Painting

The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah bought a painting for his private study room and netizens went wild. The painting by a yet unknown artist depicts a scene in Parliament where the MPs are apes and frogs. Netizens found the painting awesome, applauding the Sultan for appreciating a painting that is said to be true to life. While an MP had been reported to be outraged over the painting, saying that it violates Islamic etiquette and manners, I was wondering if indeed there is rebirth, that humans could be reborn in the so called animal realm; or even if that's necessary when besides Buddha nature, we probably have animal nature. Then, almost immediately I forget the whole matter when I read of the death of a celebrated local artist Yusof Gajah who was famous for his elephant paintings.
