In Thailand, a 72 year old monk walked barefoot for 1500 kilometer from Phuket Island to Nakhon Phanom in what was said to be a pilgrimage. Buddhists knelt by the roadside and offered floral garlands and bottles of drinking water but the monks was said to have only accepted offerings of water. Incidentally, in Facebook there were photos of a monk with his well wishers. The monk was carrying a bouquet of flowers, a welcoming gift for the monk who has arrived at the airport perhaps; but was that an appropriate offering?🤔
