Chinese New Year is a time when people wish each other well. Five popular Chinese New Year Wishes: 大吉大利 Lots of luck and profits!, 心想事成 May all your wishes come true!, 万事如意 May all go well with you!, 身体健康 Wishing you good health! 年年有余 Surplus year-after-year! ring well not just for Chinese or Chinese New Year alone but for everyone and every occasion. Doesn't Buddhism preach that thoughts good or bad have a tendency to translate into their respective good and bad actions? Wishing everyone well is akin to planting good thoughts and would this perhaps bring forth joy and happiness. May everyone be well and happy; and well here means good health and wealthy too! Good health alone would never do and wealth is always preferred to poverty!
