Food for Dana

When lay Buddhists offer Buddhist monks food, you would be surprised by the sheer variety and abundance. Buddhist monks since Buddha's time never have it that good, I suppose. Today, monks could have a pick of their food and eat to their heart content if they choose to. Offering of food to monk is part of dana and while it aims to cultivate in lay Buddhists, generosity among other things; do you for once wonder if it affects the monks. Could they unknowingly get overindulge in satisfying their tastebuds?
